Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico

The highly anticipated Miss Universe 2024 pageant is set to take place on November 16, 2024, at the Arena Ciudad de México (Arena CDMX) in Mexico City, marking Mexico’s first time hosting the event since 2007. The 73rd edition of the pageant will be a landmark event, with around 130 countries and territories expected to participate, making it one of the largest editions in the pageant’s history.

The Miss Universe Organization continues its drive towards inclusivity, announcing significant rule changes for the upcoming edition. Notably, restrictions on age, height, and weight for contestants have been removed, reinforcing the pageant’s commitment to expanding its vision of beauty beyond traditional standards. This comes as part of the organization’s broader efforts to evolve in line with modern values of inclusivity and diversity following the announcement in 2023, allowing mothers and married women to compete.

The 2024 competition will see 10 countries and territories making their debut on the Miss Universe stage, including Belarus, Iran, and Haiti, among others. Additionally, countries like Cuba, New Zealand, and Sierra Leone are returning after lengthy absences, adding excitement and diversity to the contestant pool.

The reigning Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, who was crowned in 2023, will pass on the prestigious title to her successor at the grand finale. Fans from around the world will tune in to watch women from diverse cultures and backgrounds vie for the crown in an event that showcases not only beauty but also intelligence, advocacy, and leadership.

With over six months of preparations underway, this year’s pageant is expected to be a stunning event. Mexico, known for its vibrant culture and strong pageant presence, has previously won the Miss Universe title three times, most recently in 2020 by Andrea Meza.

The Miss Universe 2024 pageant promises to bring together not just the contestants but also a worldwide audience eager to witness one of the globe’s most iconic beauty competitions, celebrating diversity, empowerment, and beauty in all its forms.
